Having grown up in a Greek Revival home from the 1850s, Rebecca’s education in old houses and historical architecture started in her childhood. Her upbringing in New England formed a basis for her love of early American, classical + Victorian homes, and upon moving to Seattle, she fell in love with, and vowed to help preserve, the Arts + Crafts and Tudor-style houses that make up the whimsical character of the city.
With a Master of Arts in Interior Design from Marymount University in Washington, D.C., Rebecca worked for years in commercial design before discovering that her true love lies in forming relationships with families–helping them to create residential spaces that are not only beautiful, but also support and enhance their lifestyles. The color palettes and forms in the landscape of the Pacific Northwest inspire her designs, which make use of natural materials and rich textures.
A keystone of Rebecca’s ethos is keeping up with state-of-the-art practices in design and construction. Over her two decades of working in the field, she has amassed a trusted network of sources and tradespeople that elevate and ease her clients’ experiences. Her affiliations with the National Kitchen and Bath Association, as well as her certification with the National Council for Interior Design Qualification, contribute to her expertise in this realm.
The symbol of her studio, a corbel, is a metaphor for the melding of beauty + functionality, which she infuses into every one of her projects.
Rebecca lives in a 1930s Tudor Revival in one of Seattle’s historical neighborhoods with her husband and two daughters. She finds joy in biking, sailing, being first in line at estate sales and in styling her antique mantelpiece–the heart of her home.
